BJP leader Kirit Somaiya has made a shocking revelation between the controversy between Arnab Goswami, editor-in-chief of the Maharashtra government and Republic Media Network. Actually BJP leader Has claimed that the family of Maharashtra Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray had a land deal with the late Anvay Naik’s family. Somaiya said that he has enough evidence to prove the land deal between Thackeray and Naik family.

Not only this, Kirit Somaiya also accused Uddhav Thackeray and asked if this could also be the reason for trapping Arnab Goswami, Editor-in-Chief of Republic TV? He also shared some documents in his tweet and told them about the land deal.

In his next tweet, he said, “I have examined all these documents and sent it to the Collector and SP.” He said that he got this information through the land records of the Maharashtra government.

However, this revelation made by the BJP leader is necessary to revisit the context on which Republic TV editor-in-chief Arnab Goswami was arrested.

Arnab’s arrest

Point to be noted is that Republic Media Network Editor-in-Chief Arnab Goswami was arrested by the police from his house on the morning of November 4 without any notice. Arnab was arrested in a two-year-old case, which was already closed. Apart from Arnab, the Mumbai police had also misbehaved with his family members during the arrest.

After the arrest, the police presented Arnab Goswami to the Alibaug court, where police custody was sought, although the court refused to give police custody.

The case relates to the death of Anvay Naik, an interior designer, who committed suicide in May 2018. During this police Had recovered a suicide note. In which it was alleged that Arnab Goswami did not owe him 83 lakhs.

Anvay Naik and his mother Kumud were found dead in their Alibaug farmhouse. The suicide note also had the names of two others, named Feroz Sheikh and Nitesh Sarada. They were also accused of not giving 4 crores and 55 lakhs. At the same time, the case was closed in April 2019 but it was reopened due to the feeling of retaliation by the state government.

The Indian Express According to a report by the authorities, at that time the authorities investigating the Anvay Naik suicide case did not find any connection between Republic TV editor Arnab Goswami, Nitesh Sarada and Firoz Sheikh. This was rejected by the police as there was not enough evidence in the murder-provoking case. Also, the Raigad police investigating the case had filed their closure report before the magistrate in April 2019.
