how to download embedded video from website:- Embedded videos are self-hosted and created in a web page. This differs from linked video which is often hosted on YouTube or other video platforms and then created into a page using an iFrame or link. If you use a fast web host then no method is better than any other but embedding is only feasible. It does not work so well on shared hosting.
Download an embedded video with a browser extension
The easiest way to download an embedded file is to use a specific browser extension. All most all are working well with the most famous browser. Here is a couple of browser extension which is trial and tested to download an embedded video.
1. Flash video downloader
Flash Video Downloader is a Firefox addon that adds a small arrow to the browser window. When that arrow turns blue, there is a video embedded on the page that the extension can download for you. Click on the arrow, select the video and download it. This addon works on many websites, so it is great if you are a Firefox user.
2. Video downloadhelper
Video DownloadHelper is another helpful extension. This time it has Firefox and Chrome compatibility. Like the Flash video downloader, it adds an icon to the browser bar that will change the colour when it detects the video at the time it can work. Click on the icon, select and download the video. Flash works as a video downloader on most websites.
Download an embedded video with an online tool
If you don’t use Firefox or Chrome or don’t want to use browser extensions then there are some useful online tools that can help. They are essentially extraction tools built into websites that work with embedded videos. I know of two that work well in many respects.
Savefrom.net is a very useful website that works with many popular video websites including YouTube. It also works on other web pages with embedded videos. Capture the URL of the page, paste it into the page and select search. The page processes and recognizes the video if it can provide options for quality. Select the quality you want and hit download.
VideoGrabby does the same thing. Once you eliminate the warm yellow scheme, the site works well. Paste the page URL into the box and hit Go. The extractor will identify the video if it can and offers quality options. Select your desired quality and download
Both of these sites are free to use and work well. They sometimes slow down at peak times but are expected to. Otherwise, both work well in a large range of websites.
Use a screening weapon to record embedded video
On the rare occasion that previous methods do not work on a website, you can use screen grabbing software to record videos. This is not correct by any means so I left it till the last, yet it works.
Open broadcaster software
Open broadcaster software is probably your best bet. Used a lot for streaming, OBS as it is known is great. While this is an installation and requires little configuration, if you are into streaming you will already have a copy and can use it to capture video. If you do not have it, the download is minor and installation is simple.
As always, I will not go into the legality of downloading videos from the Internet. If you are a regular at khabri, I will provide information on how to download embedded video from website, what you are doing with it is completely up to you. If you decide to rip embedded video, always remember to use security as a VPN and choose your video source carefully.
